During that seminar, we probably met with about 100 of our students. Maybe 15 of them had told us they had lost all the weight they wanted and reached amazing goals, but the others, who had been receiving the same information on how to lose weight, they were. well, still exactly the same.

Have gained 30 or 40 pounds since that picture was taken, you’ve what it takes to shape your beauty and body and to look like that again. All it takes is really a little self-confidence and motivation on your part. Keep in mind that the person that you would like to be is in there and you just have to work to discover that person again.

You must always lift your weights with focusing on the movement. Try not to perform the movement too quick and also focus on the muscle you are working. If you find yourself having to swing to bring the weight up, it’s probably too heavy for you. On certain movements you should be able to cheat a little bit to move the weight. However, you should discuss work with a personal trainer on these types of movements.

After I gave birth to my first child, I somehow thought I’d have my old body back immediately. It was bad enough that I hated the pre-pregnancy one but now it had a flabby stomach, was much bigger, was not at all OK with me. And I suddenly developed a need to snack on potato chips in the middle of the day!

I understand that a model/celebrity’s image is their livelihood, but what message does this send to girls growing up in this day and age? I try to make comments about Photoshop to my daughter as she reads Teen Vogue, and i think in the back of her mind she is aware that the images she’s looking at are not reality. However, in her everyday life, she tries to emulate “perfection,” and when she falls short (which we all do), she can get very upset, either with herself or with the product that she has saved up for weeks to buy (they are not cheap).

What should you do to begin reshaping your child’s self image? First don’t blame yourself. You need to be focused and confident on helping your child through this difficult time. There’s no need to assume responsibility for what is not your fault. Some personalities are more prone to negative self image than others and there is no way for a parent to predict which of their children will need the most help.

The next step in the greater plan for my life is unfolding much like a rose bud beginning to bloom. I accept with excitement the challenge and responsibility of going to greater degrees of awareness. I spend quiet time alone daily to listen to and trust the greater wisdom within me to unfold, guiding me in making wise choices that support my growth.
